Akira was up all night worrying about her pack mate, Sheba the cat. Sheba has throat cancer (has been sick for quite awhile).

Akira has refused to sleep, climbing the walls literally, and here she is fighting back sleep. Here I am holding her hoping she can rest on me and sleep. Long night...

Akira Update: I cried yesterday. Watching Akira eat for the first time on her own in over 3 months, unexpectedly tears welled up and the relief I felt palatable.

So seemingly an every day simple act so easily taken for granted. She had no sense of appetite and the drugs she had been on caused loss...

Akira Update: She had a rough night. And I learned that lidocaine patches do not work when her hair grows back in.

Medicine can't absorb in skin unless patch can fully adhere.

6 hours straight of panting and pacing before figuring out what was causing her pain and stress. Took her to vet this...

Akira Update: The more she feels better, the more my wrapping gets worse...

Tonight she proceeded to "undo" my wrapping by burrowing her head and body on the floor. Yep, she's feeling better! Getting playful and willful again.
